Roaring Reverends - Detroit Tigers game on July 20
Come cheer on the Detroit Tigers with your fellow Roaring Reverends! Bring a spouse, a friend, or the whole family! The Roaring Reverends Tigers game will take place on Friday, July 20, as the Tigers take on the Chicago White Sox. Friday night also means fireworks after the game at Comerica Park! The event starts at 5:00 p.m. with dinner at the Rub BBQ Hub, while the game starts at 7:05 p.m.

Pinterest-ing ideas on how churches and ministries can use Pinterest
Pinterest is the fastest-growing social media tool today, amassing more than 10.5 million users as of late February, 2012. It has the same amount of referral traffic as Twitter does. Furthermore, users spend more than an hour on Pinterest versus a half hour for Twitter. Pinterest has already redefined the act of “pinning” in the lexicon. Pinterest appears to be the big social media phenomenon of 2012.

Bishop Keaton to speak at Detroit: Ford Memorial UMC on Father's Day
Michigan Area Bishop Jonathan D. Keaton will be preaching at Detroit: Ford Memorial UMC at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 17, as part of the church's Father's Day celebration. Keaton's new book, "Our Father, Where are the Fathers?" sheds light on the false stereotypes of missing fathers in the urban community. A book signing will occur following the service. Conference Youth Assembly - July 18-22
The 2012 Conference Youth Assembly will take place on July 18-22 at Lake Louise United Methodist Camp and Retreat Center in Boyne Falls, Mich. The theme of this year's CYA is "Silly Songs with CYA." 2012 North Central Jurisdictional Conference - Akron, Ohio
The website for the 2012 North Central Jurisdictional Conference is now active and can be accessed by visiting
www.eocumc.com/ncj2012/. The conference, which is being hosted by the East Ohio Conference in Akron, Ohio, will take place from Wednesday-Friday, July 18-20.
United Methodist Caribbean Cruise to Haiti
Visit Haiti as part of an 11-day United Methodist Caribbean Cruise. The Rev. Dr. Gordon Schleicher has arranged a Haiti excursion to see Haitian cultural and witness Methodist mission evangelism including a Methodist school and church. Sponsored by Educational Opportunities Tours, the cruise aboard Royal Caribbean includes island stops in San Juan, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, St. Maarten and Labadee, Haiti with a bus trip to Cap-Haitian. This is the only excursion beyond the beach and a first for the cruiseline and tour operator. For a total cost of $1,100 the cruise includes on-board lectures by Bishop Jane Middleton on “Spiritual Leaders of Our Time” and a lecture on the history of Methodism in Haiti given by Dr. Schleicher. - Lawson Crane to Blissfield: Emmanuel UMC (Ann Arbor District) as interim pastor, effective July 1, 2012. He is presently retired.
- Zachary Dunlap to Blissfield: Emmanuel UMC (3/4-time) and Lambertville UMC (Ann Arbor District) as associate pastor (1/4-time), effective January 1, 2013. He is presently serving Allen Park: Trinity UMC (Detroit Renaissance District).
- William Sanders to Standish UMC and Saganing Indian Church (Saginaw Bay District), effective July 1, 2012. He is presently serving Wisner UMC (Saginaw Bay District).
