2012 Annual Conference session

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

May God’s grace and peace be yours, now and always. District Conferences, Bishop’s Days and Seasons of the Church have come and gone. Already it is time to come together for the 44th Detroit Annual Conference. “Imagine a world…” is the theme of our 2012 Annual Conference. It begins with worship on Thursday, May 17th and continues through Sunday, May 20th on the campus of Adrian College.

I invite you to join us as we gather to celebrate what God has done in our midst over the past year and to anticipate what God will do through the churches and ministries in the communities of the Detroit Conference.

Steadfast on our journey through the Four Areas of Focus, our theme this year is based on, “Combating the diseases of poverty by improving health globally.” I know that there will be a wealth of opportunities for us to learn, grow and make advances for the kingdom. Please join us to hear about General Conference and find ways to respond to the denominational Call to Action.

Your presence and your voice are important to me and to all of us. Together we seek to do our work of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world by equipping local churches for ministry and providing a connection for ministry beyond the local church.

Come with prayerful expectations and of course, open hearts and open minds.
I pray that God grants us all safe travel. I look forward to seeing you in May.

Sincerely,

Jonathan D. Keaton
Bishop, Michigan Area
